Vitex Agnus castus

Chaste Berry (also referred to as Vitex) is used as a regulator of the sex hormones via the pituitary gland, balancing levels of progesterone, estrogen, prolactin and other hormones.Low progesterone and too high prolactin levels. It is especially valuable in long-term imbalances, and in these cases should be used over a period of months at least. Long-term irregular menstrual cycle: too early, late, intermittent, painful. Spotting between period; esp. during ovulation. PMS symptoms (esp. with anxiety, nervous symptoms); pre-menstrual breast pain. Fibro-cystic breasts. Infertility w/ long term hormone imbalance. Menopausal symptoms following long-term hormonal imbalances. Hot flashes (w/ Black Cohosh, see MNPS Formula).Adult acne (w/ liver tonics). Ovarian or uterine cysts and tumors. The pungent berries were long used to promote appetite and digestion and stimulate the liver.
Dosage: 1 full dropper (40 drops) - in a swallow of water 2 x a day (daytime).
Contraindications: Pregnancy (at least not continued very far into 1st trimester). Birth control med.s; hormone replacement. If menstreual or intermenstrual bleeding worsens significantly, use a smaller dose or discontinue.
